Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Graphite Learning, Inc. They cover graphiteprep.com, the Graphite SAT app and the AI tutor.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Graphite SAT, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

2. Who can use Graphite SAT

You must be at least 13 years old. Graphite SAT is for personal test preparation. Schools and tutoring companies need a separate written agreement.

3. Accounts

Keep your password private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account. One account is for one student.

4. Plans, billing and cancellation

  • The Sharpened plan is free. Mechanical is billed in advance, weekly, monthly or yearly, whichever you choose.
  • You can pause, cancel or change your plan anytime on the Subscription page (Settings links to it), or a parent can from the parent dashboard. After canceling, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Each plan includes what's listed on the pricing page. Features that aren't included show as locked. If a payment fails or a plan is paused, the paid features lock until it's paid or resumed.
  • Each student can try Mechanical free once, for 7 days, without a card. When the trial ends the account goes back to the free plan by itself, and nothing is charged.
  • If you cancel within 7 days of your first payment, we'll refund it in full.
  • We'll email you at least 30 days before any price change.

5. Acceptable use

Don't share your account, copy or resell our questions, try to break or overload the service, or use Graphite SAT during an actual SAT administration. We may suspend accounts that do.

Questions are for working out yourself. If a student copies a question or pastes into an answer, the page warns them the first time. After that, it's recorded on the account and a connected parent is emailed.

6. AI tutor answers

The tutor is accurate most of the time, but it can make mistakes. If an explanation looks wrong, use the "Report this explanation" button and a person on our team will review it.

7. Scores and results

Practice test scores are estimates based on how the digital SAT is scored. They aren't official scores, and we don't guarantee any particular score on the SAT. The score-up promise below is the one promise we make about results.

The score-up promise

If you do the work below and your official SAT score doesn't go up, we refund what you paid for your last two months of Mechanical (for weekly billing, your last eight weeks; for yearly billing, two-twelfths of the yearly price). These are all of the conditions:

  • You were on Mechanical, paid and not paused, for at least 6 weeks before your SAT. Time on the paid Sharpened or Masterstroke plans, which Mechanical replaced on October 19, 2026, counts too. Free trial days don't count toward the 6 weeks.
  • You finished at least 80% of the sessions in your Graphite SAT study plan during those weeks, and at least 3 full practice tests.
  • You took the SAT within 60 days of your last session.
  • Your official total score isn't higher than your starting point: your first full Graphite SAT practice test, or your most recent official SAT before you started, whichever is higher.
  • You email your official score report to hello@graphiteprep.com within 30 days of receiving it. A screenshot of the College Board score page is fine.
  • One refund per student. We refund to the original payment method within 10 business days of confirming the conditions, which we check from your account's records.

8. Our content

Questions, explanations, software and design on Graphite SAT belong to Graphite Learning, Inc. or its licensors. You may use them for your own study only.

9. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents it.

10. Disclaimers

Graphite SAT is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law rules.

13. Changes to these terms

We'll email account holders about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect.
